A sunny July day favoured the wedding at Holy Trinity Church of Barbara Dawn, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. van Slyke, Waeranga-o-Kuri, and Edward Herbert, son of Mr and Mrs H. M. White, Ngatapa. In this group photographed by Mr Lloyd Cornish, the members of the wedding party are: Mr I. White (brother of the groom, groomsman), Miss Marion McPhee (bridesmaid), the bride and groom, Miss Margaret Isaac (bridesmaid), and Mr J. McNaught (Rotorua, best man). The flower girls are Anna De Costa and Erin Caldwell.

R. A. White, the All Black, exchanged his usual Saturday afternoon rig of jersey and shorts for tie and tails, here handles a camera with almost the sure touch he has for a football. He is a brother of the bridegroom.
