Mike Delany, Nelson's No 1 fullback since 1958, has retired. Popular Mike Played 70 games for Nelsdn and scored more than 509 pts in his nine years of representative Rugby. Included in his 80 first-iclass appearances were matches against the Lions (2), Australia and France. But one of his most important and best games was for Combined against the Lions this year. In that he scored nine points and played a near faultless game. You'll be missed, Mike.

After 14 years as secretary of Motor Assemblies Ltd, Mr Fred Heald has resigned and is to return to Christchurch. Before leaving Nelson he was presented with gifts by the firm and fellow employees.
