G.B.H. SPORT EXCHANGE

Gisborne Boy's High School recently had a sport exchange with Hastings 'Boys' High School involving Cricket, Golf, Tennis and Volleyball. The First XI Cricket team created an outright win. The 2nd XI, despite a brilliant 1st innings, were beaten in a close game. The GBH Golf team won convincingly. The Tennis team had a clean sweep winning 30- 0. The Volleyball team didn't realise their potential to lose this series against Hastings. (The A Volleyball team went on to 1st equal with Hastings High School at the Regional Tournament. Siaki Tui was selected as a N Z Trialist for the U/21 National Volleyball Team)

When things aren't working the team talk is essential. No6 Charlie Te Kani, Siaki Tui (obscured), No3 Pila Lolohea No3 Kodee Ngatai and No 2 Ainsley Paea take "strategy time''

No2 Siaki, the lone "blocker" has plenty of height however the faces of No8 William Mahuru (left) and No 3 Kodee Ngatai tell that the Hastings spike was smashed through their defence (the story of this series)
