Free Kindergarten Assn. National Awareness Week

Gisborne's 6 free kindergartens met at Alfred Cox Park to march down Grey St. to Waikanae Beach for a fun filled afternoon of activities including a treasure hunt. A large gathering of friends, family and whanau took to the street, marching to the tune "The Teddy Bears Picnic" (blaring from the 2ZG Community Service Vehicle) & with a police escort for safety, to a large sandy playground.

The march stopped at the end of Grey Street where food appeared as if by magic (mums think of everything) before the adventure of playing in the big sandpit and the paddling in the giant swimming pool.

Lana, Laura and Vicki Martin began with familiar things such as crayons before moving onto more unusual activities.
