James Webb, the lucky winner of 2ZG's "win a wish" promotion & his father Murray (Okitu Store) flew to Auckland for a great day with the All Blacks. Walter Little sat with James for lunch& they joined Jonah Lomu's 20th B'day Party - the cake was a rugby ball.

CCS Tairawhiti was originally set up in June 1935 by Rotary to help keep children alive who suffered from the devastating effects of diseases such as polio. Now CCS is a community welfare agency with minimal Govt funding which helps people of all ages to get off the dependency cycle. Cutting the 60th B'day cake are Life Members Betty Chrisp (left) & Barbara Kissock.

The Mardi Gras grew from the 1990 Tall Ships celebrations. Dave Jillett President of Mardi Gras 2000 Inc presents Nigel Mead Manager of CCS Tairawhiti with a cheque for $3000 from the profits of the 1995 Mardi Gras.

Karl Young won this giant Mickey Mouse in a BP Disneyland Holidays promotion. Glenda Gooch of the Mangapapa Garage knows that Mickey has gone to a good home.

The $8000 (approx) profits from the 1995 Mardi Gras goes to charity. The Pres. of Mardi Gras 2000 presented a cheque for $1000 to the Gis. Round Table, their share of the profits of the 1995 Mardi Gras, who volunteered to organise the Americas Cardboard Cup. Dave Jillett (left) presented the cheque to Blair Purcell, Maryanne Jillett & Dean Cook for Gisborne Round Table.

Coner Jeory experimented with his art during June to Dec 94. A TV Generation kid, he works with the TV screen frame to show control, or lack of control of his art, which was planned but flowed from the original idea. He needed to know what his various ideas looked like so he set about creating. His art was on view at Fettuccine Brothers Peel Street Restaurant.
