CARDBOARD CUP

For those of us safe and secure on the wharf, the spectacle of cardboard boats trying to negotiate a course, provided much hilarity. While several lacked the knowledge of Dalton or Dickson, they made up for it with sheer guts, determination and cunning. Once again it was the Bushmere Flyers team of Bruce Clarke & Tim Tietjen who "tacked" and paddled their way to victory in the kitset section to take out the America's Cardboard Cup 1995.

Proving the Police will tackle anything on land or sea, Janine Bull and Dean Tattle rowed their way to 2nd place in the kitset boat section.

It was good to know the rescue boat was on hand if needed especially during the demolition derby section.
