Pool of Fashion
The McGlashen Swimming Club benefited by $300 after the highly successful fashion parade held in the River Bar of the Albion Hotel. The occasion, which was a sell-out, included wine and cheese. While sipping and tasting the audience was treated to a parade of high-class fashion from Auckland designers and manufacturers Margaret Haig (formerly Whitehead of Gisborne) and Anne Lamport. Compere was New Zealand's leading fashion coordinator, Diane Leaming.

Margaret models the cream outfit with black and red checks that won the Manufacturers' Award at New Zealand Fashion Showcase '69.
This ball gown, "Camelot", won the cocktail and evening wear section at the same event. In shot gold cyclamen shantung it features a gold lurex overblouse. It has a matching coat and is worn by Diane Leaming.
Margaret again in a very up-to-the-minute patio gown
Another patio gown in a bold Paisley design is paraded by Paddy Naismith.
Local model Beverley Cuthbert wears a brocade skirt in a leaf pattern with a matching yellow frilled blouse.
Also wearing brocade in the form of an evening gown is Anne Lamport. A plum and gold leaf design with a gold cummerbund gives an elegant line.
