The Mighty Maitai

Boats (if you could call some of them that) of all shapes and sizes were paddled, splashed, run, pushed or kicked downstream by as motley a collection of bpaties. as we've ever seen, in the second Nelson Jaycee Maitai river races. At times it appeared as if the crew with the most underhanded methods might win the major event, the Fruit Salad Finale, but the 2ZN entry, crewed by Graham Veitch and Tony Muff, got its nose in front of the interference and never looked back. That's them at bottom left. Terrific fun for a tremendous crowd.
