"The Mikado"
Lovers of Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas had a rare treat last month when the pupils of Sacred Heart Girls' College presented the "Mikado" to a big audience in St. Mary's Hall. Costuming was both lavish and colourful and the whole production well presented.

Yum Yun (Maria McMullen) is serenaded by Nanki-Poo (Therese Simpson) before Gail Brewer, Shona O'Carroll, Bernadette Satherley and Corrie Van Rooden.
Pleading for their lives to the Mikado are Corrie Van Rooden, Shona O'Carroll and the Lord High Executioner (Catherine Harvey).
Katisha, Nanki-Poo's intended, and his reason for fleeing the court (Nanette Haack).
The full cast on stage.
