The deputy-Mayor, Mrs Betty Eyre, presented the trophies - in this case to Robin Espie (Federal) and Peter Stirling (Old Boys) joint winners of the Newnham Cup.

Ian Allport also received a trophy, from the members of his Hatch Cup team. The prize was a bottle of brown ale and a pair of tankards to go with it.
