Helping the under-privileged

A fair organised by the Nelson branch of the Pan-Pacific and South East Asia Women's Association helped the branch to raise finance for the two Indian boys sponsored by the branch. Bargains aplenty there were, like the apron being tried on by Nessie Jameson (left).

Lillian Wingham (right) makes a deal with Mrs Margaret Webley. Selling lampshades (left) were Mesdames Helen Stuart and Louise Mosley and contemplating buying one (below) is "Martha" Stone. At bottom left the cake stall was quickly emptied while at bottom right Nancy McMullen (an "experimenter in international living, from Minnesota), marks up a price. A smiling Mrs Win Cox greeted patrons at the door (right).
