To mark the feat of Nelson College Cadet Corps shooting teams in winning the "Press" challenge shield for 13 successive years, the Christchurch Press Company recently presented the college with a commemorative plaque. The presentation was made by the day editor, Mr Ted Glasgow, an old boy of the college. He is seen, at right, with headmaster, Mr B. H. Wakelin, holding the plaque.

The 11-seater Grand Commander to be purchased by Golden Coast Airlines to replace the Aero Commander the company has flown for some time. The demand for seating on the company's flights between Greymouth, Westport, Nelson, New Plymouth and Hamilton has been so great that the company has been forced into acquiring a bigger aircraft. The new plane will cost about $100,000.
