A Visit From Snow White and Her Dwarfs

Nelson receives many visits from overseas artists, but seldom are the children catered for. It was with great pleasure, therefore, that the children in particular welcomed back to Nelson old friends in Snow White (Joan Sharratt) and her seven little friends, the dwarfs. As well as turning out to add to the interest of the Braemar bed race, the company made a short outdoor appearance at Stoke where they were given a rousing welcome.

Joan and her tiny friends line up for the "Photo News" camera. One of them, Bob Dubarry, although small, is something of a weight lifter, and he demonstrated this by picking up Paul Sharratt - the whole 13 stone of him (below left). There was a bit of a mix-up when the pair went to don their jackets again and Paul ended up like this.
