Successful candidates in Chamber of Commerce examinations held in Nelson last year were presented with their certificates at a function recently. The girls (above) who attended the meeting, however, were only a very small proportion of those who were successful. With them are Mr A. R. Cutler, who made the presentations, and Mr C. V. Neale, secretary of the Nelson chamber.

Mr Cutler presents a regional award for shorthand (120 words a minute) to Margaret Baird. Elizabeth Parkes (110 w.p.m) was a close second in the regional awards (right).
