Birds' Song at Sports Hall
The song of the canary can be very sweet but put 900 canaries, budgies and other species into a confined space and the noise is terrific. Record entries were received for this year's cage bird show and there was plenty of variety to the entries. A large proportion of the birds, 467 in fact, came from outside Nelson.
Two rareties, a crimson wing parakeet and a king parakeet, Wellington entries examined by judge, Mr C. O'Brien.
