New Citizens

New Zealand gained six new citizens from four nations last month. The six were naturalised at a ceremony before the Mayor (Mr Strawbridge) at the conclusion of the monthly meeting of the City Council. Two of the applicants were Dutch, one Norwegian, one Italian and two Austrian. At left Erika and Leopold Jelinek take the oath of allegiance. Marinus Van Der Wouden is congratulated by Mr Strawbridge, as are Peter Oxneyad (below) and Hugo Merz (bottom). The other happy applicant, at left, is Guido Alessi.
