Six young Rotarians, business and professional men from Wisconsin, U.S.A., paid a short visit to Nelson during the course of a New Zealand tour. The team was in New Zealand as a Rotary study exchange team. During the Nelson visit the men and Mr and Mrs Milton Hogland, who were in charge of the team, were guests of honour at a Rotary social at the St. Francis Hall, Stoke. There they were given the traditional challenge and welcome by a Maori concert party.

At top are Mr Hogland and his fellow American Rotarians, Bruce Mohs, Jim Cripe, John Hedrick, Don Pugh, Jim Johnson and Hugh Olson. The large group above comprises Nelson M. P., Stan Whitehead, Mrs and Mr Charlie Webley, Mrs Whitehead, Mrs and Mr Hogland and Mr and Mrs Dave Horlor.
