The Rodeo

A big pat on the back to the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association and the Rodeo Association for the wonderful programme presented last month to gigantic crowds (particularly at night). The rodeo and the riding and fancy dress competitions that went with it were first class.

If suggestions are in drder, might we suggest in future carnivals that the committee look to a few other forms of entertainment in the show ring. The car club event, in near darkness, was of little interest to the spectators and there was a big flat spot in the programme until John Hore sang. The gun club shoot was quite' thrilling, especially to those who had never seen this sport before. Similar forms of entertainment or even some contests that might provoke amusement are suggested.
