Comings And Goings

The Nelson sporting scene loses badly with the transfer of Jim and Fay Ferguson to Rurangi. Jim, a master at Nelson College for the last 12 years, has been appointed first assistant at Tongariro High School. Stuart, at left, is the only one of the family to stay in Nelson. Janet, Bruce, Trudie and Ian will all resume their studies. Jim coached the college 1st Xv for 10 years and has been most active in swimming and surfing in Nelson.

Miss Sandra (Sandy) Stephens, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. H. Stephens, Main Road, Stoke, who will work in Fiji for Volunteer Service Abroad. A home science teacher at Waimea College, Sandy will teach similar subjects in Fiji.

After eight years in Nelson, Bruce McPhail has been transferred on promotion to Ashburton, where he will be assistant manager of the grain and seed section of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan. With him will go his wife Marilyn and children Alison, Robyn, Wendy and Graham.

From Nelson, Lancashire, to Nelson, New Zealand, come Jack and Lilian Langtree. The couple were here in 1965 and have decided to return here to live.
