The Very Rev. S. Stapleton, parish priest of St. Mary's, Nelson, celebrated his 25th ordination to the priesthood recently. With him, at left, are two other priests who were ordained at the same time, Fathers M. Durning, far left, now rector of St.Bede's College, Christchurch, and A. J. McKay, centre, now a missionary in New Caledonia. Priests throughout the province and from further afield attended a special dinner and service to mark the occasion (below). Children of St. Joseph's Convent marked the occasion by presenting Father Stapleton with gifts (middle).

Missionary Returns
Mr and Mrs Gordon Airth, who were married in Nelson in 1925 and have spent the intervening years in Paraguay, where he was a missionary, have returned to Nelson to retire.
