"Miss Tahunanui" Contests

Miss Bevlyn Jarvie, of Auckland, won the Miss Tahunanui contest run by the Tahunanui Surf and Life Saving Club for 1968. As usual, the major contest attracted a comparatively small number of contestants, but judges had a much more difficult task in selecting Miss Teenage. There were 29 girls entered. By far the greatest number were entered in the Miss Teeny Weeny Beach Girl contest (about 40). Our pic above is of the place-getters in the Miss Teenage contest, Irene Tinning (Christchurch) 2nd, Brenda Young (Nelson) 1st, and Sue Day (Christchurch) 3rd.
