This old English elm, more than 100 years of age, has had its last birthday. The 80ft high tree had become dangerous and Mr Dennis Lumsden, on whose property it grew, trimmed some of it before it was decided to lower it completely. Our pic was taken a few moments after it had fallen across Hardy Street.
