For the greater part of the year, the waters of the Teal Valley stream, at the foot of the whangamoa Saddle, are quite placid. Heavy rain in the district recently, however caused the falls to turn on a striking display. White water boiled and foamed over the falls and the awesome spectacle was increased by the tremendous roar of tumbling water.
