Wide Selection of Cars at Motor Show

The Nelson branch of the Retail Motor Trade celebrated its 50th jubilee with a motor-show in Montgomery's Garage. The show, featuring many makes and models of cars, motor-cycles and scooters and caravans, was organised by Nelson Jaycee. Thousands of car enthusiasts attended the show, and while the best-known makes of vehicles received their share of interest, the more unusual makes and models, most of them American (privately owned) captured the imagination most. The crowd, at 6500, was smaller than expected, but Jaycees hope to make a profit of about £400 to devote to the Natureland project at Tahuna Beach.
