If A Gasket sticks in the recess when you are removing spark plugs, fish it out quickly and safely with the hooked end of a wire-type gap gauge. Probing with the thin wire won't damage the threads or push dirt into the cylinder.

A Shovel can make light work of changing a wheel. Slip the shovel under the wheel, lever up, and pull out to lift it off the studs. Slide the fresh wheel into position on the shovel and lever up to raise the wheel on to the studs.

Whenever you remove the thermostat from your car's cooling system, check the air bleed hole to see that it's not clogged with rust. If clogged, air will be trapped in the engine block, making it difficult to completely refill the system. Overheating could result.

To Keep distilled water handy for your battery, use a plastic liquid dispenser. The thin spout will meter the water accurately, eliminating danger of overfilling.

A Short extension on your sparkplug wrench makes plug replacement easier and may save your wrist from being burned by a hot manifold. Drill holes at both ends of the pipe, one to bolt it to the wrench and the other for a T handle.

Does your right foot get tired when driving long trips? If you change the angle of your foot by resting the heel on a block of wood it will make long trips less tiring. Secured to the seat frame with a light chain the block can't interfere with the brake and it can be pushed under the seat when not needed.
