Mr and Mrs Bill Newsome, Vanguard Street, had a visit recently from all their grandchildren, and we recorded the occasion. They are seen here with the 10 children (the oldest of whom is 6), their Bothers, and one of their own children, Noeline (second back).

Helen McKenzie, back in Nelson to visit the family in Green Street, for a short period before returning to Australia where she's touring the country. Helen, a qualified Karitane nurse and maternity nurse, will continue her studies in Australia for her midwifery certificate.

Alison Hoicroft (right) was presented with her Queen's Badge at a ceremony of the Stoke Girl Guide Company recently. With her is Anne Slinn, who received her badge last year while a member of the wakatu Company.

Two girls who gained high honours in recent dentistry examinations at Christchurch. At left is Annette Robinson, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs F. P. Robinson, late of Murchlson. At right is Marie-Anne Peacock, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. S. Peacock, 4 Louisson Avenue, Stoke, and late of Murchison. Marie-Anne gained honours in clinical dentistry and the director's medal for the nurse with the best qualifications for school dental nursing.
