Wedding Bells

When the assembly hall for the Nelson College for Girls was being built, the Nelson College boys pitched in and helped finance various projects. Now, with the college raising funds for the Mataki Lodge, the girls and staff decided to make a contribution through the collection of "mufti tax". So one day earlier this month the pupils arrived at school in mufti. And surprise, surprise! The staff, entering into the full spirit of the occasion, changed roles - appearing as pupils. The lodge project benefited to the extent of £53.
