The main block of Nelson College for Girls as it appeared in 1908 when the late Mr Fred Jones took this pic. Earlier this year the last of this building, the old tower at the front entrance, was demolished. Rising behind it was this new classroom block (below).

This view is hardly recognisable today, is it? Yes, it's Anzac Park, taken at a time when the palm trees were in their infancy. We haven't been able to establish a date, but judging by the dress of the two ladies we'd say just before or during the World War 1 years. Below, the park as it is today, and taken from a similar angle.
