There were no fatal road accidents in Nelson during the holidays, but, inevitably, there were a few prangs. This was at the corner of Hastings Street and Pioneer Crescent.

The carnival, go karts, candy floss etc, occupied part of the newly-laid grass area at the beach. They appeared to do little trade.
