Bowls All the Year Round
"You can say that this thing is costing the taxpayers thousands," said a bowler of well advanced years, pointing to the Centennial Rubber Bowling Club's green (well, black, actually). "It's keeping us old pensioners alive," said he with a chortle. And what a Wonderful incentive to live is given by this club. On a near-perfect surface, lovingly cared for, keen bowlers compete in friendly rivalry nearly every fine day during the winter months. The club, formed in 1957, now has 200 fully paid up members.
