New launch for sounds

A new 45ft launch, christened the Tawhai, was launched at Nelson last month. The vessel, built by Curnow and Wilton for E. A. Johnson and Sons, Havelock, will be used for barge towing in the sounds. The craft is unusual in that it has twin propellers and a cutaway bow to enable it to move closer to the shore.
