Mufti Day At Girls' College
Uniforms were discarded by nearly all pupils at the Nelson College for Girls, in favour of more informal dress one day earlier this month. But this transition from pupils to young ladies cost all who made it, one shilling and the proceeds go towards projects at the school.
Arrayed in their finery are Kathryn Ballantyne, Jenny McCaa, Allison Russell, Sandra Gilmore, Kathleen Bourke and Gloria Price.
Adding to the penny pile for a services project are Marion Heinz and Susan Yates.
In one classroom we encountered this Charleston trio: Linda Lucre, Ann Harvey and Sharyn Aydon.
