The new concrete block structure erected on Bisley Walk at Tahuna Beach, is a rest-a-while. The 1966 project of the Nelson Rotary, the rest-a-while provides seating, front and rear, in seven bays. Tables will be added and the surrounding area will be laid out in grass and shrubs.

The old Tasman Hotel, built around the late 1800's, is soon to come down. A tavern is to replace it. It is hoped to have it down by September-October and the tavern erected by the end of October. A bar will be operated during the changeover.
