Opportunity Workshop Opened

The Opportunity Workshop built and run by the Nelson Intellectually Handicapped Children's Society, was officially opened by the Minister of Health (Mr McKay) earlier this month. At the conclusion of the ceremony the Minister was taken on a tour of inspection and saw much of the work undertaken.

Along The Maitai Valley

Autumn in Nelson has lasted a little longer this year, due mainly to an absence of wind and rain. The Maitai Valley was again a mecca for those on a Sunday drive. This scene is one they would have enjoyed.

The Gold Of Golden Downs

With the advent of autumn it is easy to understand why "Golden" is such an apt name for the Golden Downs forestry. This magnificent stand of poplars is at the Motupiko entrance to the forestry.
