Success Of Nelson's "Operation 21"

Heavy and incessant rain failed to prevent the success of Operation 21 in Nelson. Working under the most dismal conditions, the small band of dedicated workers raised more than £400 from its "Starvation Meals" project. The money is to be used to purchase materials for wells in drought-stricken areas of southern India. Had it not been for the rain, however, it is certain that much more would have been raised. Included in the total were two gifts of £50 and one of £35.
