Ballroom Dancing Festival

Climax to the Festival of Ballroom Dancing held in Nelson during Easter was the "Queen of the Ballroom" contest. The contest put the seal on what was a memorable occasion. Some of New Zealand's top ballroom dancers competed in a varied and colourful programme and the big audience which watched the finals on the Saturday night were as much thrilled by the magnificent ball gowns worn by many of the women as they were by the dancing.
