Precipitators for Tarakohe

A giant welding job was just being completed at Dorman Engineering when we took these pictures recently. The company has manufactured three new precipitators for the Golden Bay Cement Co, Tarakohe, from an English blueprint. Each precipitator consists of three sections and inside the middle of each is placed a bank of tubes, within which electrodes operate. Major problem confronting the companies was how to transport the huge steel cylinders to Tarakohe.
