Work has commenced on the western trancept of the Nelson cathedral, the last stage in the building programme. It is anticipated that the building will be completed by March next year.

A stone, shot from the wheel of a passing vehicle, smashed a big plate glass window in the Rutherford Street showroom of Nelson Car Sales recently. The smashed glass was valued at about £40.
