The "Glasshouse" Of New Zealand

×

In this comparatively small area in The Wood is one of the largest concentrations of glasshouses in New Zealand. Of the million lb of tomatoes produced in the Nelson province in the 1964-65 season, the greatest part of this was produced in The Wood area. There are about 35 acres of tomato gardens under glass in the province, but, here again, the bulk of this is in The Wood (about 28 acres). This aerial also shows Trafalgar Park on the left and Neale park at top left
