The installation of floodlights at Trafalgar Park is going on apace. The scheme is sponsored by the Nelson Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club and when installed they should permit the use of the park at night for night cycling and athletic meetings.

A new page in the history of the Nelson Search and Rescue Organisation was written last month when two lady members of the Nelson Tramping Club, Jill Gibbs and Angela Ming, joined in a search for a Ngawhatu patient who went missing.

By far the biggest header harvester in Nelson was imported by Wright Stephenson and Co recently for Mr Bill Creswell, of Hope. The huge machine cost nearly £5000.
