The Hunt for Treasure

The Treasure Hunt Appeal for funds for the Boy Scouts and intellectually handicapped children was well-launched on March 17, but the initial response of the public did not reach expectations. On the one day something like 20,000 of the 53,0O0 vouchers were sold and to boost sales it was decided to continue the appeal for a further week. The children's Treasure Hunt was won by Ian Jackson, 76b Tukuka Street, with the vast total of 242 vouchers collected. Second prize winner, Errol Thelin, was only three away.
