Sunshine Products From The Sunshine Province

All over the province the harvesting of the fruits and other products that have brought Nelson New Zealand and overseas recognition as a producer of fine fruit, is proceeding apace. Hundreds of workers from all over the Dominion and from overseas are scattered throughout the fruitgrowing areas and will remain there until trees, vines and plants yield their last. For weeks now the roads through these areas have carried hundreds of truckloads of fruit into the coolstores, and although coastal vessels carried away large quantities of fruit to other New Zealand districts, it was not until the Perim arrived early in March that the first big shipment of fruit overseas was made. From now on there will be a steady flow of fruit over the wharves and into the holds of overseas ships.
