Progress At Motor Assemblies Factory

×

The work of converting the former cotton mill building into a motor assembly plant is going on space and reconversion and constructional work is right up to schedule. The firm, Motor Assemblies, which at present has its plant in Christchurch, does not expect to be producing until early next year, but much of the equipment at present in Christchurch will be shipped to Nelson and installed by September. Biggest job in the 100,000 sq ft building has been the assembling of the paint plant. So complex and important is this plant, that the contractors, Dryss and Co, sent out to New Zealand four technical experts.
Our picture here shows a portion of the extensive paint plant during its erection.
