Vern and Heather McHerron have arrived in Nelson from Christehurch. Vern has been appointed to the new position of retail manager of Wright Stephenson and Co.

Coming and going is Ross Woodhouse, a crew member of H.M.N.Z.S. Otago, seen here at home with parents Beryl and Syd on Mount Pleasant Avenue. He's just returned after an absence of 2 1/2 years.

New accountant at the Commercial Bank of Australia is Brian Lavery, seen here with wife Natalie and children Louise and Timothy. They've come from Auckland.

Nelson's new district senior inspector of schools with the Education Department is Mr John Lee, seen here with son Michael and wife Dorothy. They've come from Hamilton.

No stranger to Nelson is Dr Jock Miller, new psychiatric medical officer at Ngawhatu Hospital. Wife Jess and son John are also pleased to be in Nelson. Dr Miller is an old boy of Nelson College (left, 1935) and his father, Dr David Miller, was a former director of the Cawthron Institute. He was formerly stationed at Porirua.
