Record-Breaking Year

Records established as long ago as 1923 were shattered during the annual sports days of Nelson College. Eleven records went by the board either on the sports day or at the house sports, and an all-time record was established by the senior champion, Nicholas Atkinson, who won every event in which he was entered - the 75 yds, 100, 220, 440, 880, mile and two miles - a tremendous achievement. In three of these events, the 880, mile and two miles, he set new records.
