Some residents of Nelson have been complaining of late of the "dawn chorus" of milk bottles and crates as the milkmen deliver. As a means of cutting down the noise the milk company has had a look at cartons such as the one shown here, but it seems unlikely that new equipment and bottles recently installed will be scrapped for the carton.

Former Nelsonian John Caselberg, who has arranged a programme of outspoken and neglected New Zealand writings from early European times entitled "O New Zealand". The programme, performed in Nelson on February 26, is a feature of the PanPacific Arts Festival in Christchurch.
