Intermediate School's Drama Festival

Four plays by pupils of Nelson Intermediate School were presented in the school assembly hall last month during the annual drama festival. They were "Warned Off", "Pip Meets the Convict" from "Great Expectations", "The House on the Marsh" and "The Best Laid Plans".

Pip (Robert McLean) is warned by runaway convict (Michael Higginson) what would happen to him if he turned betrayer.

Mrs Gargery (Marie Green) gets a little impatient with Pip while Her husband Joe, a blacksmith (Philip McLean), munches his bread.

Two policewomen, Linda Lucre and Margaret Heywood, turn the tables on the diamond smugglers in "The House on the Marshes".
