New Milk Treatment Station

×

For just on a month now Nelson's new milk treatment station has been operating on the reclamation. This lovely building, one of the landmarks on the reclaimed land, houses much of the most modern equipment available for the pasteurisation and handling of milk in bulk. Each day about 3500 gallons of milk for Nelson consumption is treated in the most hygienic conditions. Pride of place in the building is the new vacuum-ype bottle filling machine, a foolproof machine that permits ease of handling and guarantees perfect safety to the consumer as regards cracked bottles. It is hoped that the official opening of the new building will take place towards the end of this month. Below is a general view of processing equipment.
