Popular Priest Farewelled

After seven years as parish priest of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manuka Street, Father J. Kingan has been transferred to Timaru, but before he left he was bidden farewell by parishioners and some of his many friends outside the church. These helped to swell donations for the gift of a complete golfing outfit - from a matched set of clubs and trundler to shoes and socks. For the presentation the St. Mary's hall was packed to capacity.
