New Building Construction

A new type of construction is being used by the contractor building a huge church hall in Maitland Avenue, Stoke, for the Brethren (Exclusive) Sect. The roof and ceiling were built at ground level and then raised by winches up the four corner columns. At the stage we have pictured the building here, the roof and ceiling were well off the ground. When the roof is hoisted into its final position at the top of the columns the foundations will be built and the walls added. The hall will seat more than 1200.

One of the great advantages of the system is ease of work and a saving in scaffolding costs.
